Kugsha dog, also known as the Amerindian Malamute, is a dog breed with a poorly known history. We do know how they got their name and what were they originally bred for, but still, a lot of facts are still missing in the creation of this exceptionally intelligent wolf-dog. But is this dog breed for everyone?
Can it adapt to apartment living or be affectionate with children? Originally, Kugsha dogs were bred to be working dogs that helped their human companions in weight-pulling and sled pulling. With time, more and more people started using them as watchdogs rather than working dogs due to their high-spirited nature and sense of protectiveness.
This rare wolf-hybrid breed was bred in Pennsylvania at Wolfen Kennels. So, they combined the names of Wolfen Kennels: Kuhlwind, Gordon Smith and Habben, and formed the acronym Kugsha that is now the main name of this breed.
There is not enough evidence to define their origins precisely, but their genes seem to come partly from wolves, as well as malamute-type breeds. These traits are what make Kugsha dogs very hard-working animals that require high levels of activity each day.
Being a northern dog breed, Amerindian Malamutes love cold weather and can bear harsh climate conditions pretty well. Apart from the obvious resemblance to the wolf and wolfdogs, Kugsha dogs also have some physical traits similar to huskies.
They are bigger and larger than a Siberian Husky but are still smaller than most Alaskan Malamutes. What sets these large dogs apart is their distinct head, size, shape, and coat. Their body is well-developed and muscle, especially in chest and thighs which makes them great working dogs for heavyweight pulling. Kugsha dogs have also a quite big, but a still proportionate, head with almond-shaped eyes and a black, slightly pointed muzzle.
Their ears are triangular and erect which makes them resemble their wolf cousins even more. American Huskies will have long tails that will likely be carried down. They will reach easily the height of 27 inches and can sometimes even exceed the weight of pounds. A Kugsha dog has a double layer coat that is dense, medium-long and brittle. So far we saw that a Kugsha dog has pretty much wolf-like appearance and a wolf-hybrid history. So, would this dog make a good choice for your home?
It will most likely depend on the temperament and personality of this dog breed you are about to learn more about. Most breeds that are considered as working dogs usually have a high-spirited, intelligent nature that can make them be quite inconvenient for first-time owners.
Kugsha dogs can be very affectionate towards their family members if well trained. However, their personality comes with a surprise.
Despite their high sense of independence, these dogs hate being left alone and can easily cause a mess if left for too long. This is an Excel Document. Age Adult. Gender Female. The Kugsha dog is a breed of rare, domesticated dogs that were previously used as working dogs. They are characterized by a large, well-defined body with the looks of a wolf having a massive head with erect, pointy ears, almond-shaped eyes, and a broad muzzle. Their legs are sturdy and well-built, while the tail is long and bushy. They were earlier used to pull freights and other weights. Previously, this breed was marketed as the American Husky.
Kugshas are dogs with a primitive behavior like most other Northern breeds, and hence, their training needs to begin at a very tender age. However, they have a high level of intelligence with an eagerness to please their owners and can pick up training quickly. They make good watchdogs but are not suitable for apartment life. Kugshas would create a strong bond of affection with their family members and do not prefer staying alone for extended periods of time.
Because of their predatory instincts, it is not always safe for the owners to leave small children alone with them unless the child is at least years old. Kugshas are, however, good with other pets in the family, including dogs. Large dogs like Kugsha need cups of dry dog food every day, depending upon how big your dog is. You can also serve them bony meat and eggs both rawand semi-cooked or tinned fish like salmon and tuna.

Contact us.The Goberian is a designer dog breed that is a cross between the Siberian Husky and Golden Retriever. Because they are a cross between two dog breeds, the Goberian can have any mix of characteristics from the parent breeds.
They may take on more traits of one parent or have a combination of both. Goberians are a relatively new designer dog breed that tends to be friendly, affectionate, and gentle. Because they are a mixed dog breed, they are not recognized by the American Kennel Club. They tend to have a gentle and loyal nature. Goberians tend to get along well with children and other dogs. They can get along with other pets in the house, but may need to be introduced and socialized for it if they inherit the Siberian Husky prey drive.
The Goberian is a moderately adaptable dog breed. Because of their energy, they are best suited for larger homes with a securely fenced-in yard where they can run. They can adapt to apartment living if they get enough exercise and attention. They tend to prefer cooler climates, but they do well in just about any climate.
As with any dog breed, they are sensitive to extreme heat or cold. Despite the occasional independent streak, a Goberian thrives on affection and loves to be near their families.
Plus, they tend to be easily bored, so they do not tend to do well with long periods of alone time. As with any hybrid dog breed, a Goberian can inherit all, a mix, or none of the potential health problems common to the parent breeds. Talking to the breeder about the genetic history of both of the parents and asking to see any health clearances can help ease potential concerns you may have.
In general, the Goberian is intelligent and learns quickly, but the overall trainability of them will vary.
We have Giant and Standard Alaskan Malamute Puppies of all Colors available.
They can be moderately easy to train or more difficult depending on the mix of characteristics from the two parent breeds. If the Goberian puppy takes more after their Golden Retriever parent, they will be easier to train and eager to please you. However, if they take after their Siberian Husky parent, they will be more difficult to train as they will be more stubborn and independent.
Regardless, you will want to plan for puppy training classes, especially if you are a first-time dog owner. Plus, the classes offer opportunities for early socialization, which is also important. Because the Goberian is a mixed dog breed, their coat can come in a variety of coat colors.
Their coat tends to be long and dense and may be straight or slightly wavy. They can range from light to moderate shedding year-round and may have two heavier shedding sessions as the seasons change. Bathing is an occasional requirement as needed and many Goberians only need a bath every months. Trimming nails on a monthly basis is usually sufficient. You want to make sure their ears are not trapping moisture, dirt, or debris that could lead to an ear infection.
